Athens City Full Day Tour (dur. appr. 8 hrs)
You say that you will have only one day to spend in Athens? Then this tour is perfect for you and has become very popular, especially with people from the cruise ships. Lasting about 8 hours, you will start off from Acropolis Hill, by seeing the Parthenon built in the 5th century B.C., Propylea, Erechtheion, Temple of Athena Nike, Dionysus Theatre, Herodes Atticos Odeon and Aeropagus.
Then the Temple of Zeus, the Old Olympic Stadium - Panathinaiko Stadium – where the 1rst modern day Olympics were held in 1896, the first university and academy of Athens, and the changing of the guards at the President’s Palace.
Enjoy a great lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant. There you will be able to try a wide variety of Greek dishes at very reasonable prices. Many clients have told me that this was the best meal of their cruise!
Other highlights that you will see and visit in the city are St. George Lycabettus Hill – the highest point in the city with its panoramic view, and the oldest neighborhood in the city “Plaka” with its maze of narrow, shop-filled streets. In the Plaka area you will see and visit the Tower of Winds, Ancient Greek and Roman Agora and Ceramiko. The National Archaeological Museum OR the New Acropolis Museum is also included on this tour. Both museums are considered to be of the world’s finest.

Continuing, we pass through the scenic village of Arahova, nestled on the mountainside, famous for its handmade carpets rugs and Formaela cheece. Lately it has become an ideal destination for winter vacationers and Athenian VIPs who enjoy snow skiing.
After Arahova we will arrive in Delphi where ancient Pythia delivered her oracles. Ancient Delphi once was believed to be the center of the universe. There you will meet ancient Greece by visiting the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, the Theater, the Tholos, the Stadium, Palestra, Baths, Castalia Spring, the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia and many others!

Argolis Full Day Private Tour (dur. appr. 9-10 hrs)
(Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio, Epidaurus)
The Argolis tour is a one - day tour that has everything. A drive by the sea, bungee jumping, a visit to ancient tombs and theaters. Just great!!!
This one-day tour starts by traveling along the Saronic Gulf’s coastal road to the Corinth Canal. The Canal is a structure of great importance, as before it was built, ships sailing between the Aegean and Adriatic Seas had to circumnavigate the Peloponnese, adding about 185 nautical miles to their journey. The original idea for making the canal was conceived by Periander the tyrant of Corinth back in 602 B.C. and the one that finally started the project in 1830 was Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of Greece. This was after the liberation from the Ottoman Turks, and finished in 1893 after several stops and restarts. If you want and dare, you can try bungee jumping off this historical canal wall. Next, visit Ancient Corinth where St. Paul spoke to the Corinthians -Bema of St. Paul- and Ancient Corinth Museum. A historical place for both the Byzantines and the ancient Greeks.
After Corinth we will drive on to Mycenae to see the Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs, and the Museum. In the city of ancient Mycenae the most important civilization in Greece was born after the Minoan civilization was destroyed. You will also go inside the actual tomb of Agamemnon - the king of the Mycenae.
Then, on we go to the first capital of Greece, Nafplio. The city has a number of sights, like the Bourtzi, where the famous Greek revolution leader Theodoros Kolokotronis was prisoner, and the Palamidi Castle. At Nafplio, we will also take our lunch to traditional Greek restaurant with sea view.
Our final destination before we head back to Athens is the ancient Theater of Epidavrous famous for its perfect acoustics. This theater was the homeland of the ancient Greek Tragedy and is still used in the summer months for artistic festivals.

Athens & Cape Sounion Full Day Tour (dur. appr. 9 hrs)
Many cruise ships make a stop in Athens for only a day. If you have 9 - 10 hours in port, why not try this tour? A perfect way not to waste any valuable time while you are docked in Pireaus. Or in case you wish to combine the city tour and also get a bit out of the center.
See all the sights in Athens; Acropolis Hill, with its Parthenon built in the 5th century B.C., Propylea, Erechtheion, Temple of Athena Nike, Dionysus Theatre, Herodes Atticos Odeon and Aeropagus. Then the Temple of Zeus, the Old Olympic Stadium - Panathinaiko Stadium where the 1rst modern day Olympics were held in 1896, the first university and academy of Athens, and the changing of the guards at the President’s Palace. Also St. George Lycabettus Hill – the highest point in the city with its panoramic view.
Continue driving a coastal route to admire Athenian Riviera and make a stop at Vouliagmeni Lake with its healing waters to get some pictures.
Then we will stop to a very nice traditional Greek restaurant on the sea. Enjoy lunch or dinner (if you choose to take this trip in the afternoon) of fresh grilled fish or have a traditional Greek meal.
At the end we will reach the magnificent ancient temple dedicated to the God of the Sea, Poseidon, at Cape Sounion with a marvelous view of Saronic Gulf, before we return to Athens. This tour can also be done in the afternoon allowing you to witness an absolutely breathtaking sunset from the Temple.
If you are in the middle of a cruise, you will be back to your ship in time for departure, leaving you with fond memories of a day you will remember always. As with all of my tours, it’s up to you where you would like to stop along the way to have a closer look at something or to take some pictures.
