We would like to tell you that the time we spent with you touring Greece was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. Your passion for your country, its history (both ancient and recent), its culture, food, and people added a depth to our Greek experience that we could never have gotten anywhere else. We certainly could not have gotten it on a tour bus or driving around on our own. We looked forward to the adventure of our next lunch stop each day, and on the remainder of our trip we rarely experienced better food. Before every sightseeing stop, you described to us the importance of what we were going to see, making our own exploration a part of a tapestry of ancient and modern history. For example, to listen to the story, then to climb the hill at Thermopylae, and then later to visit the archeological museum and see the thousands of arrowheads dug from the same hill gave a continuity to our experience that was truly enlightening. Or to visit the site of an 1821 revolutionary battle, and then to visit a monastery that preserved the writings and giant oil paintings of the very men (and their moustaches) who fought there gave an incredible depth to our experience. You took us to out of the way places and showed us not just the ancient ruins we thought we wanted to see, but fishing villages, mountain villages, historical markers, countryside, people, road stops, tavernas and bakeries that we would have never otherwise seen. Your warmth and hospitality have enriched our lives. We feel very fortunate to have met you. You have made us fall in love with your country. Thank you.
